Sepang 12th August

With the school holidays on and a lot of guys
being away the track was pretty quiet this time so plenty
of room at Sepang for those who went. VIP reatment at the
Pan Pacific Hotel and the track as usual, not every where
is so welcoming to bike riders so its a real treat to be looked
after so well. After a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast
it was off the circuit which was dry and ready for action.
The first part of the morning went smoothly until some oil
was spilled on turn one (must get my sump plug wired) this
caused a long delay while the marshals cleared the track.
Once safe again we headed out for race one, I started on the
middle of the grid but quickly made up places to be in third
by the end of lap one. I was trying to stay on the tail of
the second place Ducati but missed my braking point at turn
9 on the second lap, the resulting panic left me a good 5
seconds behind with not much chance of making it up. If anything
he was pulling away so third it was. Joe romped home in first
again, think we will need to add some lead to his R1 in an
effort to slow him down. Despite his speed he always looks
relaxed and in control, its about time we started the "Joseph
Lee Track School" Where do I sign up? I was lying on
the floor of the pit garage for the second race so don't know
what happened, if you do know how about letting me know. It
would be good to get a different perspective of the day from
another participant so please e-mail me with your track reports
and I will publish them here.
